Well I've been meaning to do this for a long time - create a web page to showcase all the custom jewellery I have designed and made for weddings since 2009.
It was something that snuck up on me... at some point I realized, after years of making jewellery, that I had designed pieces for seven weddings. As I looked through the photos I had saved and those the brides had sent me, I felt extraordinarily lucky. Lucky to have this growing hobby/job that I enjoy so much. And lucky that these brides trusted me enough to adorn their bridesmaids for the special day!
2012 was a special year for me. I got married myself, and took some tentative steps out from under my rock and into 'grownup' life. Among many things, this meant taking a week and completely organizing my huge collection of beads and crystals to fit into my new home. Wow, that was certainly an endeavor. It was during late 2012 that I came across my jewellery portfolio. Looking at all the jewellery I've made in these photos, and how they will remain, forever sparkling on these beautiful bridesmaids and flower girls, felt really special.
Still. I put the photos back in the box and thought to myself at the time, 'It took a lot of time to design and make all these pieces...' and didn't think more about it.
Then 2013 came, and I found myself booked to make jewellery for two more weddings, one in the spring/summer, and one in the fall. And I realized that I was totally addicted and there was no going back.
Bring on 2013! Bring on as many Swarovski crystals as I can carry (and hide from my husband). Bring on the weddings!
